Your practice stays on your phone.
Countera never uploads your answers or your practice history. If you choose to sign in to the leaderboard, it sends only a nickname and a few figures. As a guest, nothing is sent at all.What stays on your phone
Countera saves your practice so your score, streak and statistics survive closing the app:
- each question you answered, what you answered, and when
- your rating for each kind of arithmetic
- your sessions and preferences
All of it is in a database inside the app's own private storage. It is never uploaded to us. Android may include it in your device's own backup to your Google Drive, which Android and Google control; you can turn that off in your phone's settings.
What is sent if you sign in
Signing in is optional and only needed for the leaderboard. If you do:
- From Google sign-in: your Google account's identifier and email address, used only to recognise your account. They are never shown to anyone. Google also offers your name and profile picture when you sign in; we do not keep them.
- What you choose: your nickname, avatar colour, region, and whether you appear on the leaderboard.
- Your figures: your Money Fluency Score and band, current and longest streak, best score, number of shields earned, questions solved, and points earned each week.
- A random install number, so the app can tell when you sign in on a second phone.
Figures are sent when a session ends, when you open the app, and when you change your profile. Your individual answers are never sent.
What other players see
Your nickname, colour, band, score, streak, number of shields, rank and the date you joined. Never your email or anything from your practice history. Turn off "Show Me on the Leaderboard" and other players see nothing about you.
Where it is stored, and for how long
Account data is stored with Supabase, our database provider, which processes it on our behalf. Like any online service, the provider keeps short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to run and secure it.
Your profile and figures are kept until you delete your account. Weekly points are kept for twelve weeks. When you delete your account, all of it is removed immediately.
The one exception is the feedback board. Anything you post there stays on the board when you delete your account, with your name removed, because other people have voted on it. Your votes go with your account. The board says so before you post.
Deleting your account
In the app: Settings, then Delete Account. Without the app: countera.suryaelite.com/delete-account. Either way, deletion is immediate, and complete apart from feedback board posts, which stay with your name removed. Uninstalling the app removes the practice history stored on your phone.
What Countera never does
No advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting services, no trackers, and your data is never sold or shared with anyone for their own use.
Sharing
When you tap Share, you choose where a picture and a link go. Nothing is shared until you do.
Children
Countera is made for adults doing everyday money arithmetic. Leaderboard accounts are not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly hold data about them.
Third parties
Google provides sign-in and Google Play handles the download; Google's own privacy policy covers those. Supabase stores leaderboard accounts for us. No one else receives your information.
Changes to this policy
If what Countera sends ever changes, this page will say so plainly and in advance, and the date at the top will change.
