# Countera > Countera is an Android app that trains the mental arithmetic people do with money: discounts, unit prices, best value, splitting a bill, and working out what you are still owed. It grades with a real skill rating, the Money Fluency Score, rather than a points total, and offers an optional worldwide leaderboard. It is free on Android and live on Google Play at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.suryaelite.countera. ## What it trains Practice is dressed as real money questions, not bare sums. Examples from the app: - "4,200 rupees with 30% off. What do you pay?" (close counts: estimating is the real skill here) - "Ravi owes you 720 rupees and Priya 99 rupees. How much are you owed in total?" (exact only) - "A 320 rupee bill split 5 ways. What does each person pay?" (exact only) - "4 for 360, 6 for 510, 10 for 880 or 12 for 1,068. Which is the best value?" (tap the offer that costs least per item) ## How scoring works The Money Fluency Score is a skill rating, not a points total. It combines five ratings, one each for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages, and rises as harder questions are answered right. Some questions are Close Counts, where a near answer earns real credit because estimating is the skill being tested. Others are Exact Only, where only the exact figure counts, such as splitting a bill or picking the best value. ## Practice Seven money modes: Money Mixed, Shopping (discounts, the price before a discount, tax), Margin (buying, selling, profit), Rates (unit prices, how many you can get), Credit (owed, paid, outstanding), Splitting (bills, cost per use) and Best Value (the cheapest offer per item). A Practice Room below them has plain sums. A session is six questions unless the user picks 12, 25, 50 or 100, with 50 seconds a question on a shared clock. Every answer is a whole number. ## Bands, points and shields The score climbs through five bands: Foundation (everyone starts at 1,000), Steady from 1,080, Agile from 1,210, Sharp from 1,350 and Fluent from 1,500. Points are separate and reward effort: an exact answer earns 12 when quick, 10 on time, 6 when slow and 1 when very slow; very close earns 5, close 3 and wrong 1. Points never change the score. Six shields reward consistency and firsts, never volume: A Week Running, A Month Running, A Hundred Days, A Perfect Session, Off the Bottom Rung and Strong All Round. ## Leaderboard Optional, with Google sign-in. This Week ranks points earned that week (Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC); All Time ranks the Money Fluency Score. Each board has a World view and a region view. Players appear under a nickname they choose. Guests can read both boards. ## Privacy Practice history stays on the phone and is never uploaded. Signing in to the leaderboard is optional and sends only a nickname and a few figures: score, band, streaks, best score, shields earned, questions solved and this week's points. Individual answers are never sent. An account can be deleted any time, in the app (Settings, then Delete Account) or without the app at /delete-account, and deletion is immediate. ## Availability Countera is an Android app, free on Android.
